SF Motors Will Launch Dedicated Electric Vehicle Brand on West Coast in Coming Months
SF Motors’ focus on innovative clean mobility technology, R&D, and high-level design make Silicon Valley the perfect home for the company’s operations. The company has also brought on electric vehicle pioneer, Martin Eberhard, to serve as a key advisor to the brand. With his expert guidance, the company aims to become a leader in the clean energy transportation space. The Santa Clara headquarters, which will primarily focus on business operations and future product planning, will take on approximately 100 employees by end-of-year, at which time it will have a headcount of approximately 150 employees. At the Ann Arbor R&D center, which will focus on engineering and E-powertrain design, the company plans to hire 100 employees by end-of-year for their North American Product Development Center.
As Sokon Industry Group expands into the North American market, the company is seeking to attract Silicon Valley’s top talent to staff its operations. In order to secure an innovative, high-tech space for its leaders and prospective employees, the company recruited design firm AAI (a NELSON brand), who recently completed the build out. The structure, which is located in central Santa Clara, California, stands four stories tall, is approximately 80,000 square feet, is adorned with modern white spaces and bold, multi-colored accents, and includes a state-of-the art garage filled with EV charging stations symbolizing the company’s commitment to electric transportation.
“In order to establish a West Coast presence and reach our goal of becoming a leader in the US EV market, SF Motors decided to build a solid foundation here in Silicon Valley,” said SF Motors CEO, John Zhang. “As we expand our operations and R&D efforts, we hope to partner with like-minded corporations and recruit the top automotive and tech talent to ensure attainable, clean mobility for future generations.”
The headquarters were designed to utilize natural light and open space in an effort to inspire and invigorate employees. The main floor is made up of a sleek lobby, various meeting spaces and a vehicle showroom. The lobby features custom metal panels, cascading circular light fixtures, leather furniture, custom-designed area rugs and large video displays. The floor also holds an extended outdoor café for dining and events, as well as training, game and fitness rooms. The second floor houses sit-stand workspaces, labs, and collaborative conference spaces. The executive suite includes a boardroom, situation room, formal dining room and various reception areas, all of which are located on the private third floor.
